This page explains how the estimated shipping cost displayed on LordsWorld product pages is calculated and how it differs from the final fulfilment or delivery cost confirmed for an order.
The estimate is provided to help customers evaluate the likely transport cost before adding a product to the cart. It is not a binding quotation and may change after the complete order, destination and logistical requirements have been calculated.
Initial Estimate for One Product
When the shopping cart is empty, the shipping amount displayed on a product page is generally calculated for one unit of that product.
The estimate may be based on:
- the customer’s detected or selected destination;
- the product’s recorded weight and dimensions;
- volumetric weight;
- the packaging information available for the product;
- historical transport rates;
- rates supplied by a third party carrier or logistics provider; and
- other logistical data available when the estimate is generated.
If the destination has not been selected or cannot be identified accurately, the amount displayed may be based on a default destination and may change when the delivery address is entered.
How to Obtain a More Accurate Estimate
To obtain the most accurate available shipping estimate, customers are strongly encouraged to create a LordsWorld account and save the intended delivery address before consulting the product page shipping estimate.
A complete delivery address allows the system to consider information such as:
- destination country;
- postcode;
- city or delivery area;
- remote area or restricted zone conditions;
- available carriers and services; and
- other destination specific logistical factors.
If no delivery address is available, the system may rely on approximate location information supplied by the browser, network or internet connection. This information may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Customers should avoid using a VPN, proxy, location masking service or browser configuration that conceals or alters their apparent location while consulting shipping estimates. Where the system cannot reliably identify the destination, the estimate may be unavailable or may be calculated using an incorrect country or default location.
The delivery address entered in the customer account or during checkout is always authoritative. Any earlier product page estimate based on approximate location data may therefore change once the complete delivery address is known.
Customers who do not wish to create an account may still enter the required delivery information during checkout. Alternatively, they may contact LordsWorld to request an eventual transport quotation or another delivery arrangement expressly agreed between the parties.
Estimate with Products Already in the Cart
When products are already present in the shopping cart, the estimate shown on a product page may take into account the quantities and products currently in the cart.
After changing a quantity or adding another product, the customer may need to refresh the page before the displayed estimate is recalculated.
The estimate may increase or decrease because products can sometimes be consolidated into the same package, pallet or shipment. Other products may need to be dispatched separately because they:
- are located in different warehouses;
- have different preparation times;
- cannot be safely packed together;
- require different transport classifications;
- exceed carrier weight or dimensional limits; or
- require specialist freight arrangements.
Product Page Estimate and Final Checkout Cost
The shipping cost displayed on a product page is an estimate only.
The final fulfilment or delivery cost is normally calculated after the complete cart and delivery address are known and is displayed before the order is confirmed.
The final amount may be determined through:
- the calculation displayed at checkout;
- a rate received from an independent carrier or logistics provider;
- an eventual alternative quotation made available for the specific order; or
- another fulfilment or delivery arrangement expressly agreed between LordsWorld and the customer.
If the final cost or a material delivery condition differs from what the customer has already accepted, LordsWorld will communicate the proposed change and request acceptance before proceeding where required.
Factors That May Affect the Final Cost
The final fulfilment or delivery cost may differ from the product page estimate because of:
- the complete delivery address;
- remote area, island or restricted zone surcharges;
- weight and volumetric weight;
- the number and dimensions of packages;
- palletisation or wooden crate preparation;
- fragile, hazardous or specialist freight classification;
- appointment or timed delivery requirements;
- tail lift or special unloading requirements;
- insurance or declared value conditions;
- customs or cross border documentation;
- carrier availability;
- current transport rates; and
- another logistical requirement specific to the order.
Third Party Delivery Services
LordsWorld sells goods and does not independently operate as a carrier.
Where the customer cannot or does not wish to appoint a carrier independently, LordsWorld may make a third party delivery service available through the product page, shopping cart, checkout, a written quotation or another method expressly agreed between the parties.
The transport service is physically performed by an independent carrier, freight forwarder or logistics provider.
LordsWorld may select the provider considered suitable for the shipment on the basis of factors including:
- the nature and value of the goods;
- destination;
- weight and dimensions;
- service availability;
- declared value or insurance conditions;
- estimated transit time;
- carrier performance; and
- the logistical requirements of the order.
LordsWorld may use an eventual alternative carrier or subcontracted logistics provider where this does not materially alter the price or essential delivery conditions already agreed.
If an alternative method would materially change the price, delivery conditions or service level, LordsWorld will communicate the change and request the customer’s acceptance before proceeding where required.
Estimated Delivery Time
Any delivery estimate shown together with the shipping estimate normally refers to carrier transit after the goods have been prepared and dispatched.
It does not necessarily include:
- product availability or production time;
- order preparation;
- supplier lead time;
- packaging or palletisation;
- weekends and public holidays;
- customs clearance;
- delivery appointments;
- remote area transit; or
- exceptional transport disruption.
A change of carrier does not necessarily change the estimated delivery period. However, an estimate is not a guaranteed delivery date unless a specific date or time critical service has been expressly confirmed in writing.
Transport Protection and Insurance
Depending on the selected carrier, shipment value, destination and service conditions, the transport arrangement may include standard carrier liability, declared value protection, insurance or another form of shipment protection.
The scope and limits of any protection depend on the terms of the relevant carrier, insurer or logistics provider.
A customer cannot waive mandatory consumer protections or automatically assume all risk of loss, theft or damage merely by declining optional insurance.
Where an optional insurance service is available, its price, scope and conditions will be communicated before it is added to the order.
Standard - Customer Carrier Pickup From designated warehouse
Where available, the customer may select Standard - Customer Carrier Pickup From designated warehouse instead of a third party delivery service arranged through LordsWorld.
Under this method:
- LordsWorld prepares the goods for collection at the warehouse designated for the specific order;
- transport is not included;
- the customer collects personally, where suitable, or independently appoints and pays a suitable carrier; and
- the final warehouse address and collection instructions are communicated after order verification.
LordsWorld uses different warehouses and logistical locations. The customer must not assume that collection will take place at the registered office, return address or any location used for a previous order.
Further information is available on the Warehouse Pickup page.
Bulky, Heavy, Palletised and Special Freight
Shipping estimates for bulky, heavy, fragile, palletised, hazardous or unusually shaped products may be based partly on historical data and may not represent the final transport cost.
These products may require:
- a pallet or wooden crate;
- a specialist freight carrier;
- a dedicated vehicle;
- tail lift delivery;
- forklift or crane unloading;
- a delivery appointment;
- access verification;
- special permits or route planning; or
- another arrangement agreed for the order.
Where an accurate automatic calculation is not possible, the product page or checkout may invite the customer to request a quotation.
LordsWorld may also contact the customer after reviewing the order to propose an eventual alternative delivery method or another arrangement expressly agreed between the parties.
Multiple Warehouses and Separate Shipments
Products in the same cart may be stored at different warehouses or supplied by different logistical locations.
The final cost may therefore be based on:
- one consolidated shipment;
- separate shipments;
- different carriers;
- different dispatch dates;
- separate warehouse collections; or
- another fulfilment arrangement agreed with the customer.
Where products have different preparation times, LordsWorld will normally follow the longest applicable lead time and fulfil the order together unless separate fulfilment is operationally appropriate or agreed with the customer.
Overcharges and Underestimated Costs
If the final transport amount is lower than an amount already charged, LordsWorld will correct or reimburse the verified difference where appropriate.
If an automatic estimate is materially lower than the actual cost because of incomplete, incorrect or unavailable logistical data, LordsWorld will not apply an additional amount without informing the customer and obtaining acceptance where required.
The customer may accept the revised method or cost, request an eventual alternative arrangement, appoint a carrier independently where available, or cancel the affected order or product where legally or contractually permitted.
Contact Before Ordering
Customers are encouraged to contact LordsWorld before ordering where:
- the delivery destination is remote or difficult to access;
- the goods are bulky, heavy, fragile or palletised;
- a delivery deadline is essential;
- special unloading equipment is required;
- the product page does not display an estimate;
- the estimate appears inconsistent with the order; or
- the customer requires another delivery or collection method.
