GARNET for sandblasting is composed of Almandite granules, one of the most hard and tenacious minerals known. GARNET Almandino is a non-metallic mineral, chemically inert.
It allows to obtain, thanks to a low consumption, a high productivity and the possibility of being re-used several times for sandblasting at low costs.
It is a mineral belonging to the Garnet group with the chemical formula Fe3Al2(SiO4)3.
It results to be chemically inert, exempt of free silica and of any toxic metal, therefore guarantees a safe working environment with reduced disposal costs.
Product gender: Garnet for sandblasting..
Being devoid of ferrite (a ceramic compound consisting of a mixed iron oxide and one or more other metals that has been manufactured in high frequency electrical components such as antennas), it is particularly suitable for low dust sandblasting of steel, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, wood, glass, marble, etc. as well as for cleaning the facades of buildings.
It is characterised by high toughness and hardness (7.5/8.0Mohs), reusable from 5 to 10 times, without losing its exceptional cutting ability.
Good specific weight (4.1kg/dm³) and very low friability. All this allows to obtain, thanks to a low consumption a high productivity and the possibility of being reused several times.
The low friability (can be recycled from 5 to 10 times) and its hygroscopicity make it also particularly suitable for cleaning with high pressure water jet (1000bar/15000psi) but above all for the water-jet cutting (cutting with water pressure 2700bar/40000psi) of steel profiles and natural stone slabs.
