The hollow microspheres in borosilicate glass are a type of inorganic, non-metallic, ultralight high performance powder for the application of composite materials in recent years.

Their application gives the products great advantages in terms of lightness, density, low thermal conductivity, high compressive strength, improved dispersion and fluidity.

They can be used as fillers in rubbers, paints, glass-resins, resins, artificial stones, lightweight fillers, oil and gas exploitation and more.
The high performance of this product is also an alternative to the usual conventional fillers or additives such as silica, calcium carbonate, talc, clay, etc.

Moreover, thanks to its low density particles, they are used to reduce weight and costs by improving the properties of the products.

Hollow microspheres remain fluid at least one year from production if stored in a dry and closed place.

WHY USE HOLLOW GLASS MICROSPHERES

Reduction in viscosity and increase in fluidity

Hollow glass microspheres are very small particles with high sphericity.

Its "cushioning" effect can increase fluidity and reduce viscosity and internal stress in resin mixtures.

Consequently, composite materials produce less heat during polymerisation and avoiding inadequate lubrication and partial thermal decomposition of the final product.

In moulding, plastics are more easily injectable, reducing product defects and improving production efficiency.

Lightening in resins with the same volume

The hollow glass microspheres have a high volume-density ratio, have a low oil absorption and disperse uniformly in the mixture.

The high compressibility and integrability allows high filling loads.

Significantly reduce the consumption of polymer, increase the quantity of filler, effectively reduce the VOC indicators and reduce production costs.

Reduce material shrinkage and deformation

The high filling ratio and the isotropic characteristics translate into high dimensional stability and reduce shrinkage and deformation rate in the final product.

If used in the right proportion, they can improve crushing resistance, impact strength, and surface hardness of the finished product.

They are cheaper for the same volume.

The density of hollow glass microspheres is only a fraction of that of resins.

This makes it possible to replace a small quantity of hollow microspheres with large masses of resin.

When considering costs in the weight / volume ratio, hollow glass microspheres allows significant savings.

allows you to check the density of objects.

The density of hollow glass microspheres is usually 0.20 - 0.60 g/cm³ while the density of mineral filler is generally around 2.7 - 4.4 g/cm³ (the value adopted is equal to the real density of the particles).

To obtain the same volume, it is necessary to use 14 kilograms or more of talc to obtain the same effect as 1kg of hollow glass microspheres.

Thus the desired density in the mixture can be obtained by adding appropriate proportions of hollow glass microspheres.
